Terms of use

Version 2026-10-15. Signing in to Pen Wiki accepts these terms.

Who runs Pen Wiki

Pen Wiki is operated by nDigi in Zürich, Switzerland. It is a wiki that your own AI agent writes: you point at text and comment, and Claude Code — running on your computer, under your own Claude account — makes the change. Write to info@penwiki.com about your account, the service or your data.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email address: whoever has your mailbox has your account. You give a name when you sign up; it is shown on your comments.

Pen Wiki costs 8amonth;inateam,8 a month; in a team, 8 a month for each member who used it that month. Payment is not open yet: until it is, nothing is charged. We tell you by email at least 30 days before your first charge, and you can leave before it. Invite someone with your link: when they sign up, you both get a month free (up to twelve months in all).

Your pages

What you write is yours. You give us the right to store it, show it to the people you share it with and process it as described here — nothing more.

Every page is private to your space. A page you make public can be read by anyone with its link, until you make it private again. In a team, everyone who joined the team sees and comments on its pages. You are responsible for what you write, attach and publish: post nothing you have no right to, and nothing unlawful.

Deleting a page deletes it with its history, its comments and their attached files. Attachments are limited to 2 MB each and 30 a day; storage is limited per person and shown in Settings.

Your machine and your Claude

The work happens on your computer, not on our servers. Pen Wiki hands your Claude Code a job — the comment, the selected text and the page it is about — and Claude Code does it under your own Claude account. That use is governed by your agreement with Anthropic, not by us; we never see your Claude account or run models on your behalf.

You stay in control of the machine:

  • It can be switched off at any time — in VS Code (the Pen Wiki switch, or the status bar) or here (the light in the corner). Switched off, it takes no work. A new machine starts switched off.
  • Local changes are off by default. Then Claude may read your code — to document and review it — and write only Markdown files; it changes no code. Linked Markdown files are kept in step with their pages by the Pen Wiki extension. Turn on Settings → Local changes to let Claude also edit other files in its working directory. It runs no commands — except when you choose Review + Test or run a test page: then it may write test files and run your project's own test commands (such as npm test, pytest or Playwright), nothing else. Tests run your code on your machine: point them at a local or test environment, never at production data.
  • Runs (reviews, tests) write their results as pages of your wiki — which code they judged (repository, branch, commit, and the names of files changed since the last run) is recorded with them.
  • Reviewers you invite read the page you shared and what is under it, and comment. Their questions are answered by your Claude from your code, on your machine — it may read code and answer, nothing else, and secret files (keys, .env) are out of its reach. Only the answer reaches the reviewer.
  • If you turn local changes on, you decide what Claude may change and you are responsible for the result. Keep your work under version control and review what changes.

What we do not promise

We run Pen Wiki carefully but promise no availability, and pages can be lost through faults beyond our control — keep the Markdown that matters in your own repository (Pen Wiki is built for exactly that). AI output can be wrong; you decide what you keep.

We are liable for intent and gross negligence; beyond that, not, as far as the law allows.

Ending, changes, law

You can stop using Pen Wiki at any time; ask us and we delete your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or the law. We announce material changes to these terms by email before they take effect.

Swiss law applies; the courts of Zürich have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law says otherwise.

Privacy

What we process

  • Account: your email address, your name, your space and team, when you last used the wiki, and your settings.
  • Content: your pages and their history, comments and their threads, attached files, the page chat, and what you send as feedback.
  • Your machine: whether it is connected, the name of the Claude Code version and the model names it offers (so you can choose one), and the jobs it ran with their short results; for a run, the repository it ran on (its remote address without credentials, branch, commit, and the names of changed files). Nothing else from your computer — no files except the Markdown you link to a page.
  • Technical: sign-in codes (minutes), server logs for running and securing the service.

We sell no data, run no analytics and set no advertising cookies.

Where it lives, and who helps

Pages, comments and files are stored in the European Union (Amazon Web Services, Frankfurt). To make search work, the text of your pages is turned into a search index with Amazon Bedrock in the same region; it trains no model. Emails (sign-in codes, the daily digest) are sent through Resend. These providers process data only on our behalf.

The jobs your Claude Code does go from your computer to Anthropic under your own Claude account, as described above.

Mail from us

Sign-in codes, and — if something changed in your wiki while you were away — one digest a day, which you can turn off in Settings. No advertising.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and receive a copy of your pages (they are Markdown — you can also simply keep the files). Write to info@penwiki.com. You may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or — in the EU — to your data protection authority.
